The second week of my internship I did a lot of retouching for the photographer I am interning with. I also learned a lot about loading stock images like where (what sites) and how to load them properly. I also got my first chance to go to a real photo shoot on site. The shoot was for a magazine that was featuring the family that started New York Says Thank You which is a foundation where they go around and help rebuild places that have been destroyed by disasters. I realized on this shoot that doing on location shoots can be very stressful. There is a lot going on and a lot needs to be done and there is also a ton of equipment that needs to be moved from spot to spot. It was really exciting though to see how a real photographer works in these situations.
The last day of my internship this week I went to Tribeca Skyling Studios (affiliated with my other internship). I worked with the company learning how they run their studios. They rent out studio spaces for shoots and casting calls. It was an interesting experience.
My photo assignment for this week was to take the Staten Island Ferry and document my trip.
I have attached a link to the New York Says Thank You site.
